Miss Sauvignion
You are a maid (1 of 2) at the Eaton Hotel. While it isn't glamorous, it certainly has its perks. You literally get the dirt on most guests, you get paid well, and you get to take advantage of the great night life provided there. This event has you at odds - you want to have a fun time, but you also don't want to endanger your job especially with the owner and manager there.
The manager, Mr. Merlot, runs the show here. Apparently he’s kept the owners (Silveroaks) in the dark about there being a speakeasy here. You get paid well enough that you don’t want to ruin this for him or you. You work the speakeasy there on a nightly basis. You see a lot of the same folks week to week. Though Mr. Merlot is always extra nice to the rich philanthropist, Mr. Galliano.
Mr. Silveroak (owner) – dim or is that just when Mr. Adams is giving him another drink?
Mrs. Silveroak (owner’s wife) seems to be content with her bookmobile work.
Miss Silveroak (the other maid) – you get along, but would rather she wasn’t here. She is the owner’s daughter and Merlot doesn’t have her do nearly as much work as she shoul.
Porter Port (the bell-hop) – he helps you get a lot more done than the spoiled Miss Silveroak.
Mr. Adams provides the drinks for everyone including the “juice cocktails”.
Last Tuesday a large fire destroyed the neighboring Getto Building resulting in several dead (and they seem to be finding more bodies there each day since then). A portion of the hotel was also damaged by fire the same night. Mr. Silveroak has already made a public announcement of getting it fixed (costing $50K!) and bricklayers are already here to replace some of the damaged walls.
Late Tuesday night, you and Mr. Merlot moved two bodies in the hotel to the basement. By Wednesday they had been moved. You’re not completely against murder especially when Merlot is paying so much more. Who says crime doesn’t pay?
Thursday Detective Pinot-Noir checked in so your guard has been up.
Today around noon you were cleaning some of the rooms. In room #(XXX), you are startled by a body with multiple stab wounds in his back (knife still in him) on the bed. You bring Merlot up to check it out. You both assume this is another job you are to take care of and you both quickly move the body to the garbage chute for quick access to the basement. In the basement you move the body a few feet over to the main utility closet (the location where the past two were left).
Advice
Probably makes sense to meet with everyone you should already know.
You recognize several of the “nightlife” folks – best to reacquaint yourself though you have to walk the line of being a staff-person and that of a flapper. Probably best to be more of a maid tonight since being a possible accessory to murder isn’t good.
Merlot is the only one who knows of your help in “cleaning” up the bodies. Might want to keep it that way.
