Mr. Blanc
You are one of those fancy new insurance salesmen. You are here because your quiet housewife wants to check out the Women's Voter League meeting though you only allowed it since it was at the Eaton. You like the drinks and wilder life associated with the speakeasy, but do this at off-hours outside of your wife's knowledge.
Your new job is working for the ZinDel Corporation. You sell all types of insurance and you’re being well received by most everyone.
Last Tuesday a large fire destroyed the neighboring Getto Building resulting in several dead (and they seem to be find more bodies each day since then). A portion of the Eaton hotel was also damaged by fire the same night.
You were then told to speak with the owners of all of the nearby buildings to see about getting fire insurance. You reminded folks that the Getto’s didn’t have any and it is unknown what will happen with the rubble.
Wednesday you tried to sell Mr. Silveroak fire insurance. He had several misgivings about it since it seemed pricey, but using your charm (and the support of Mr. Merlot especially after you mentioned “you’d hate for anything bad to ever happen to your hotel”) he signed up.
Last night you arrived at the hotel and enjoyed the speakeasy after your wife went to bed. You had a wonderful time (even met the owner of ZinDel – Mr. Zinfandel) and found yourself doing very well with a Mrs. Meritage. Hoping to see her again for more than just an exchange of sweet words, you gave her a note asking to meet her at 2pm in the basement for a secret rendezvous.
At 2pm, while on your way down the stairs you heard a blood curling scream from down below. You rushed to find Mrs. Meritage unconscious next to a bloody and mangled body. Mr. Merlot & Det Pinot-Noir quickly joined you. You and Merlot took Meritage back to her room, while the detective looked over the body. This was NOT a pretty site.
You returned to your room to console your wife, though without giving her any real details, yet.
Advice
Your in a squeeze – you can’t avoid Noir or your wife too long, and you should probably make sure Meritage is ok, but you can’t seem overly nice, etc. Guess you’ve done nothing wrong, but…
Probably makes sense to meet with everyone you should already know, too.
Should also explain things to your wife and to make her feel somewhat comforted.
