Mr. Silveroak

You own the Eaton Hotel.  You are a jolly, friendly and often clueless man who has made a large profit at the Eaton even though you do little there.  You are very happy with your manager Mr. Merlot's work since he brings in so many people and much profit. You also love what your "chef" can do with juice.  Even though you like the Victorian style at work, you enjoy the new music available on phonographs.  You support your wife's work with her library-on-wheels bookmobile though you wish she wasn't doing the driving.

More background

You have one daughter, Miss Silveroak, which you spoil greatly.  You thought she should get some real world experience, but you know how hard they toil elsewhere, so you have her working as a maid here with Miss Sauvignion (though you didn’t even want her doing that much work, but the Mrs convinced you to do it).

Your drinkmaster/chef is Mr. Adams.

Your bell hop is Porter Port.

What has happened

Last Tuesday a large fire destroyed the neighboring Getto Building resulting in several dead (and they seem to be find more bodies each day since then).  A portion of your hotel was also damaged by fire the same night. You have already made a public announcement of getting it fixed (costing $50K) and two bricklayers (Mr. Vodka & Ms. Chianti) are already here to replace some of the damaged walls.

Wednesday Mr. Blanc tried to sell you fire insurance.  You had several misgivings about it since it seemed pricey, but with the finding of two more bodies that day plus the recommendation of your manager, Mr. Merlot, you signed up.  At least now you won’t have to pay $50K if another similar event occurs.

Thursday Detective Pinot-Noir asked you a few questions about the Getto & Eaton fire.  Because of its vicinity, he is staying at your hotel.

Last night you slept soundly in your penthouse suite.

Today, while you were enjoying a few more juices, the detective mentioned to you something about a body being found… umm, you don’t remember where or when or why.  Probably was just another body found from the fire. Apparently he wants to bring everyone together in the ballroom tonight – probably to make sure no one goes out into the cold.  Should be fun to see so many interesting folks in one place.

Advice

Probably makes sense to meet with everyone you should already know.

Once you slow down on the juice drinks, you should realize the full scale of what happened.  You let your manager run almost everything here, but you still should have some say with your staff and family.
