Mr. Zinfandel

You are a brick-yard owner.  You are very wealthy from this as there are always new buildings to be built/repaired and you control most of the market (except for steel which has you worried).  You are single and enjoy a drink once and again.

More background

You also have recently started one of those newly popular insurance agencies under your main ZinDel Corporation.  They sell all types of insurance and it’s been well received by most everyone.

You are jealous of the power that the mob has with their alcohol racket in town, so you’ve come up with a plan to do something similar, but without stepping on their toes.  You make money when buildings are built or need to be re-built.  When there’s no building, you’re not making money, so you started the insurance company so you’re always making money.

What has happened

To get the ball rolling, you had a fire arranged in the Getto Building last Tuesday morning.  You’re proud of yourself as you actually hired Galliano’s boxer, Champ Agne, and one of your brick-layers, Ms. Chianti do it.  Unfortunately there seemed to be many casualties (strange for being so early in a business building and for some being found days later), but after sending out your agents to the nearby buildings to get fire insurance, you soon had half the down-town area signed up!

Last night you were here to enjoy the speakeasy – the drinks, women and song.  You also ran into one of your agents, Mr. Blanc, who recently got the Eaton signed up on your policy.  You still envy the extra attention the women give those “philanthropists of Italian descent”, but you believe you’re soon to be received similarly.

In fact, you’re thinking of making a deal with Mr. Galiano, the apparent main mobster boss, of declaring which part of the city each of you would have “oversight” of.  You also think just the sight of you two making a deal of any kind would help your reputation.

You’re curious as to what tonight’s gathering is about especially after hearing the scream in the afternoon.

Advice

You don’t want any of the buildings on your coverage burning down – might be a start.

Meeting with Galiano should be fun as would speaking with other possible investors in your company.  Checking with the Blancs to see what they no wouldn’t hurt.
