Mrs. White

(Merinda)

*You appear to be*

A recent widow recovering from the startling death of her husband of 5 years. You are a gracious host and love the opportunity to entertain and brag about your materialistic life. You are a gracious host and love the opportunity to entertain and brag about your materialistic life.

*You really are*

A conniving, deceitful and very selfish woman who is extremely pleased with her husband's death. You moved to South Africa after being on the wrong side of the law in England (killed a man who tried to rob & rape you). You have very simple tastes: you want to live rich, be rich and others to know about it. While working in a brothel in S.A. you heard this British guy tell of his adventures in India about how someone killed a family, stole their and the nearby Raja's fortune and who managed to get out of the area without harm. His description and seeing an article about Mr. White’s purchase of large lands in NE, she decided to check him out. In Omaha you couldn't get to see Mr. White directly as he kept all unknown women away from his estate. You then joined Lady Burgundy's "Ladies' Society of Benevolence and Rescue Home" (ie. fancy brothel), became a client of Mr. White and blackmailed him into marrying you. You could have nothing better, live rich, be rich, respected and the envy of all around. Talk about rags to riches though your relationship is not one of love or respect. You and your husband keep separate private lives and you know he still has occasional lovers visit which only angers you as it means with any lapse on his part and there is a real possibility of your new family name being stained.

*Last night you were*

Planning on killing your husband. How dare he make a will and probably take away all that should rightfully be yours for being with him for so long (5 years)? Also, with the funds and the freedom, you could take off with your current lover, Colonel Mustard, and with his prestige you could continue to live well. You were with Colonel Mustard (your room) plotting, drinking and making love while Mr. White was still downstairs playing poker. You decide to strangle your husband and make it look like a suicide while Mustard would help be your alibi if necessary (seeing you enter and not leaving your bedroom or something?). You left Mustard, went outside and downstairs near the Conservatory to get the rope from out beyond the Patio Area. On the way back through the Courtyard (with the rope) you think you saw your Maid (Periwinkle) dragging your husband through the Hall toward the Kitchen. Right when you decided to investigate further, you heard a gun shot. Fear hit you and since you did not want to arise suspicion, you ran back upstairs near the Conservatory to your room. You never saw anyone again that night until early in the morning when the butler told you the good news of your husband found dead in the Kitchen. You went along with them in having the inspector come (as you were innocent) and now you looked forward to having this put behind you while you have all of your own new wealth.

*Advice*

You clearly have the most to gain from Mr. White's death so you have to be very careful - grieving just enough, but not too much. You definitely don't want your reputation damaged in this affair as that would make your riches irrelevant (so being poor, a prostitute and blackmailing for marriage should be very hush-hush). Just hope (or ensure) that Lady Burgundy's knowledge of your real background not be revealed, as being the head of a prostitute ring should be enough to keep her quiet. Unfortunately Mustard left you last thinking that you were off to kill Mr. White. You can't give away any hint of you having an affair with him (so staying away is smart), but you also would like to make sure he doesn't tell anyone of your plans or that you did it. Also, what was Periwinkle doing with Mr. White's body? If pressed by the inspector late in the evening, you at least have a good place to swing the blame to. So much to gain, so much to lose. Should be fun!
