Captain of a large sea-faring vessel who often sails between Hong Kong and USA. You ex/import goods of all types (clothes, exotic goods, and opium) for Mr. White. You tell great stories of your (and others) adventures and have a good sense of humor.

In love with Miss Periwinkle, Mr. White's maid. You first met her (she was only a small girl) and Mr. White many years ago in Hong Kong when you moved them to SF. She grew up and became White's maid later on. You know that White wouldn't approve of you to be her suitor (he's quite protective) and she is much younger than you, but you have a great friendship and admiration of her that is mutual. You also know that some of the cargo you move is quite illegal (drugs, documents, people) especially now with the Chinese Exclusion Act that bans the immigration of any Chinese, but Mr. White has helped you gain much wealth and several ships. You know Mr. White is a wise, but very corrupt and you would like nothing more than for him to keel over so you and Periwinkle could live your days together on open seas.
*Last night you were*
Entertaining as usual. Later on you joined Mustard, Green, White, Burgundy, & Steel for poker and some good whisky in the Study. Mustard and Green left first. Later on you and Burgundy excused yourselves and you went to your guest room for sleep. You were awakened by a distant gun shot and soon after Periwinkle came bursting through your room scared and completely flustered about moving a drunken and passed out Mr. White upstairs, but got scared by gun and someone coming while in the kitchen. You told her to stay and went to go investigate. You came down the back way (near Ball room) to investigate the kitchen area (armed with a lead pipe you grabbed from the Billiard room). The kitchen is pitch black, and you bump into a body (drop the pipe) that you figure is probably Mr. White (where Periwinkle dropped him). You feel around to get your bearings and then feel liquid from the body while trying to find the pipe - it's blood!?). You hear and see (candlelight) someone coming in from the Hall and fear of what this may look like causes you to hurry back the way you came. You go back to your room, tell Periwinkle that you must have cut your hand in the dark (I'd mark your hand with a red marker), clean your hands and reflect on what you know. You know that White is probably hurt bad, probably from being dropped by Periwinkle, but you don't want to think it was her fault. But then you realize you're missing your money wad from your pocket! Did it fall out while you were in the kitchen? You decide to make it simple for Periwinkle by not saying anything about the Kitchen experience. You ask her to join you on your next voyage that may not return for a long while and after seeing her distress/delight you say, "Don't answer me now, sleep here tonight and you can decide tomorrow, my princess."
*Advice*
After learning that White was killed, you begin to wonder if Periwinkle just did the deed so she could get away with you. Now that White's gone, you two can be together, but could she be so ruthless? She's the only one that knows you were down there so you need to make sure she doesn't try to blame this on you if she gets cornered (but would she do such a thing?). You are responsible for imported goods that so many here rely on, maybe you can use that to your advantage for further info? Also, where is your money wad? If found near the body, that would link you to the murder, too.
