You are a mad mad German nazi scientist that is looking to build a tremendous death ray machine using the Cthulon. But, since you're considered a bit of a wacko even to the nazi army, they've sent 2 soldiers and a Captain Panter with you - all 4 of you are under the guise of Austrian explorers.
The Führer is in need of help to support the war effort and has sent you undercover on this trip to try and obtain as much $ as possible, but most importantly get the Cthulon for yourselves, or at least stop anyone else from getting it, by force if need be. You're only a small part of this group and not the only ones that know how to use your guns, so may want to stay under cover at least early on. You are especially concerned by the large amount of British and Americans. You like the nazi’s because they’re the only group so far to give you financial support for your crazy experiments - enough so they could actually be realized! (and put into a cheesy future video game or murder mystery) You don’t want your group to sell the Cthulon, you want it for your death ray machine and may need to take action against your team or convince them to support you. A death ray wouldn’t have any limitations that guns have. Also, there’s always a scientific explanation for everything for you and you think animals are best used for scientific experiments. As far as gems go, you know that the blue and purple gems are really the same stone (sapphire/amethyst), but differ due to our poor cone sensitivity. So, these gems should have the same value. This information could be useful later on.
May be best to slowly become more obvious what you’re about as the party goes on. You haven’t done anything wrong here, though you’re trying to see if these smaller gems can power a much smaller, not-quite death, but still hurts ray. You’ll want to try and get more gems, too, as you could “win” the Cthulon yourself.
