Ms. Curtis

You are the leader of this expedition. You aren't the most experienced person in the wild, but you've managed so far with the help of your grandfather's diary. The global depression has you desperate to obtain new wealth to maintain your family name.
The Curtis family is in bad times. There are few of you left and while you still have an aristocratic name, the lack of wealth will soon see even that leave. You heard stories of your Grandfather, Sir Curtis, as he, Captain Good and Alan Quatermaine went into the jungle looking for your Great Uncle. They had a grand adventure with fighting, romance, finding treasure and saving Sir Curtis’ brother. Unfortunately your grandfather never kept a diary of where they found the jewels, only told you some of the stories and you pieced together a location in the jungle. In order to make the trip, you needed a lot of financial backing, so you advertised who you were, lied about the diary/map, and got a strange group of responses, but each group payed for themselves and provided extra money to make the trip happen. Mrs. Moneyworth, the wealthy British banker, seemed the most skeptical, yet most intrigued and is your first and biggest backer (You have to give her 50% of what you make) - with her came Mr. Krucke (gemologist), Miss Amber (nurse), Mr. Emerild (cook), MW (mechanic) and Mr. Rhodes (cartographer). A well-organized Austrian group of 4 led by Mr. Panter. The rich vacationing Ruby’s. The missionary and a few adventurers, including the famous Dr. Jones (and his photographer), who discovered some gems yesterday and gave them to everyone else. Once in Africa, the British Colonel Q offered to assist you as well as a couple of additional quiet explorers (Lapus & Lazuli). You’re starting to worry about if you’ll be able to keep enough gems for yourself!
You are the leader of this expedition. When you’re having trouble you can refer to “the diary”, but it’s just a way to buy time. You should insist that no one travels in front of you as there are deadly traps that you must figure out yourself (and with the help of the book). Why lie? This way you can be first at finding a lot of the gems! Coln Q is a good leader and seems trustworthy. You will lead everyone through the upper level of the jungle. Take your time - it can be walked in 10 minutes, but with searching and slow steps and taking in the scenery, you can do it in 30 mins. :-) Your group should collect several bags of gems along the way. Once back, everyone will be ushered to the sanctuary.
