You will be the go-to person for people to ask you for assistance in the value of their gems. You'll have the true value of them given to you at the start of the party.

Mrs. Moneyworth told you about this opportunity, and you were happy to invest some of your own funds to make the journey. Sure, they could have just come to you after the fact in your shop back in Amsterdam, but the combination of the global depression and the threat of war nearby was all the impetus you needed to take advantage of this opportunity. It’s clear the Cthulon, if it exists, is going to be worth more than all of the gems you could possibly find, so you’ll want to get the most $-worth of gems either way to “win the Cthulon” or just have the most money so you can get your business booming again. You know the true value of the gems in British pounds: blue/purple (amethyst/sapphire)=1500 each, red/pink(ruby/topaz)=2000, yellow(citrine/diamond)=5000, and green(garnet/jungle-diamond) = 7000, & giant diamond 50000. The blue and purple do look different, and you could use this to your advantage as blue gems are slightly more rare, but still carry the same value.

Your name does you justice - you’re a crook and should do whatever you must to get your gems. Others will have to rely on you, too. You don’t believe in any of this curse nonesense and have no problem keeping gems no matter what others say. You should be familiar with Mrs. Moneyworth.
