You came along to be an assistant to the missionary, Reverend Malachite, but you also are good at taking pictures and, unbeknown to everyone else, you are an excellent thief. How very pious of you. :-)

One day when the heat was on you for stealing, you enrolled and dedicated your life to a nearby church as a sanctuary. With your jack of all trade skills, but association with items missing, the church leader volunteered you to go with the naive Reverend Malachite to start a new mission in the jungles of Africa. This church leader hinted that maybe you could use your “skillz” to obtain wealth for yourself and the church - as God would want. Basically, you’ve been given permission to steal as much gems as possible. But you’ll have to be very discrete and gain trust. Maybe even trade gems without people knowing. Or agree to hold all of Rev. Malachite’s gems, too. You know the order of value of the gems is: Blue, Purple, Red, Yellow & Green.

Meet Reverend Malachite early on and figure out her backstory, if she has one. While you’re her assistant, you don’t have to be near her at all times, but you may need to help get her out of trouble if she starts trying to convert everyone into Christianity. Don’t get caught, especially with people with guns!
